Drug Take-Back Box

Do you have unwanted or expired medications? In coordination with the D.E.A, the Sandy Police Department participates in the Utah Take-Back Efforts with our own Drug Take Back Box. Our Drug Take-Back box is available for residential safe disposal of prescription and non-prescription medications. Our collection box provides a secure drop-off location to properly dispose of your unwanted and/or expired medications. Proper disposal of your medications will help to reduce the nationwide threat of prescription drug abuse, and proper disposal keeps them out of our water supplies.

Accepted Items

The following items can be disposed of in our collection box:

Inhalers
Liquid Medicines in Glass or Leak-Proof Containers (Up to 12 Ounces)
Medicated Ointments and Lotions
Medicine Samples
over-the-Counter Medicines
Pet Medicines
Prescription Medicines
Vitamins

We also have a sharps container for the disposal of preloaded syringes.

Items Not Accepted

Unfortunately, we cannot accept any used syringes or chemo medications of any kind, and commercial use of our collection box is prohibited.
