In public service, Dennis served seven terms on the Sandy City Council, first elected in November 1987. He has also served on Utah Senator Orrin Hatch’s NAFTA Advisory Committee and as an International Trade Executive for the State of Utah.
Dennis has also been actively involved in serving the less fortunate for many years, including service at Utah Food Bank, and as Board Chairman of the South Valley Sanctuary, as the Executive Director for the OG Cares Foundation, on the Advisory Board of Deseret International, Rotary International, on the Executive Committee of Chasqui Humanitarian and the Ascend Humanitarian Alliance. Additionally, Dennis is a member of Salt Lake Committee on Foreign Relations and the Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy.

My forte has been that I’ve been smart and fortunate enough to surround myself with people who are smarter, brighter, much more capable than I who have helped make me look good - much more than I deserve.”
