If someone was looking for a definition of passion for the arts they would have to look no further than Beverly Barrett. A long time Sandy resident of 43 years, Bev (she prefers to go by Bev) proudly declares that the arts are her entire life. She was even on site of the amphitheater, to meet the architect, when he came to look at the location before it was built.
Working alongside with the last six Sandy Mayors, Bev first started working with the city council. Then one day, Mayor Steve Newton, said they needed someone to be the Sandy Arts Event Planner, a role she excelled at. Today Bev is the hostess to the many bands that grace the stage of the Sandy Amphitheater. Her passion and kindness go a long way in setting a peaceful tone to the often stressful moments before an entertainer goes on stage.
What else occupies her time when she's not getting ready for a big concert? With a smile in her voice, Bev says it's her 15 grandchildren!
