Bradburn Brief: November 2018

Post Date:11/12/2018 4:00 PM

Nov2018_BradburnBrief250x2154November is a time to gather with loved ones and reflect on those things for which we are grateful. I am truly thankful for our community and the amazing people who serve each other every day. Recently, I read a story about Kathy Felt who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and needed help getting around. Not wanting to be a burden, Kathy considered moving into a care facility. To keep their beloved neighbor in her home, over 60 volunteers stepped up to take turns helping Kathy on a daily basis. This story is a great reminder of the small but impactful ways we can serve those in need. This holiday season, I hope we will all look around and see who in our community we can lend a helping hand.

Over the last few months, we have started to hold cottage meetings in homes across Sandy. These meetings are designed to keep you up to date on what is happening at the city and learn more about the issues you are facing in your neighborhoods. This is a great opportunity for me to get firsthand information about your concerns and ensure that as a city we are addressing those concerns. If you would like to hold a cottage meeting please contact Jamie Jacobson at

Don’t forget that Election Day is Tuesday, November 6th! If you have not returned your ballots, make sure you get those postmarked by November 6th to have your vote count. There are important races happening this year and it is critical to choose carefully which candidate will best represent you. If you need more information about ballot drop off or polling locations visit

Lastly, please remember that you can always connect with us to get more information by going to our City websites and and by accessing our social media channels Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube for daily updated information.

Thank you for allowing me to serve you. Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

— Mayor Kurt Bradburn
