Mayor for a Day!
What would you do if you were mayor for a day? Forty-two of our impressive youth, from Kindergarten to 12th grade, answered that weighty question in an essay contest where the winners earn $150 and the opportunity to accompany Mayor Dolan on his daily duties.
“Without a doubt, we are in good hands with such thoughtful ‘future mayors’ who care so much about Sandy and have ideas to make it even better,” said Tom Dolan. “These kids are and will continue to be a positive force in our community”.
Mayor Dolan enjoyed reading the essays so much, he gave every participant $25 and invited them to join him as his special guests in the July 4th parade which he deemed “the best part of the day”.
